The Premier League has released a statement revealing 16 new cases of coronavirus after fresh testings carried out on players and staff between November 9-15.
Amongst them is Arsenal’s midfielder Mo Elneny. The player contracted it while he was away on international duty with Egypt.
The Egyptian Football Association (EFA) confirmed Elneny’s coronavirus status following the teams arrival in Togo for their Afcon qualifier between both countries.
Egypt are already without Mo Salah as the Liverpool ace tested positive last week.
Arsenal will be without Elneny for their trip to Leeds on Sunday and possibly the one against Molde as the player will be required to self isolate when he returns to England according to UK rules.
The EFA statement also revealed Elneny has been showing no symptoms and in good condition.
