Former Division One league board chairman, Lawyer Ntow Fianko has fired the Ghana Football Association for demanding Berekum Arsenal to pay fines in the 2019/2020 cancelled Ghana premier league season.
Speaking on Ghana- Berekum Base Radio Station Shallom FM, the vociferous football administrator fumed that his side (Berekum Arsenal) will not pay any fine since the season has been declared void and he deems it lawless to be required to pay a fine for a cancelled season.
The game is governed by laws and we don’t share ideas when the law must be applied. The FA acted on article 78 to cancel the league and there is no other law that states that clubs are to pay fines after cancellation of a league,” he stated.
“We haven’t heard anything after our appeal. Why should we pay fines when the league has been cancelled, he quizzed.
This is a nature intervention and we can’t blame anyone for what has happened. The league has been cancelled and it’s void and has no legal effect”, he added.
Mr Ntow Fianko is a legal advisor to division one league side, Berekum Arsenal.
