(CNB News) – Alan Shearer has tipped Mason Greenwood for a big future, both with Manchester United and England.
The 18-year-old Greenwood forward scored two goals in a Premier League game for the first time ever with a brilliant brace in United’s 5-2 demolition of Bournemouth on Saturday. It means Greenwood now has 15 goals in a sensational breakthrough campaign after being promoted by Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.
Shearer says United were right not to loan Greenwood out and believes the teenager has the world at his feet. This is what Shearer said in his column for the Sun:
“Greenwood hasn’t been out on loan like a lot of young players — but why should he?
“He’s ripping it up at one of the biggest clubs in the world and that doesn’t happen to an average Joe at 18.”
“He can hit it with his left and hit it with his right equally well and there’s no nonsense, he just wants to shoot.”
