CNB News – Tanzanians are to be treated to a spectacular sight on Friday night as a lunar eclipse is expected in the East African nation.

The authorities have issued a statement to assure the public that the eclipse will not cause any calamities, as some people have superstitious beliefs about such phenomenon.

According to the Tanzania Meteorological Authority, some – not all – of the moon will be eclipsed, albeit significantly.

Lunar eclipses are usually witnessed by half of the world – and other parts in Europe, Asia and Australia will experience it as well.
