Some members of the Benue delegation to China yesterday travelled from Guangzhou to Qingdao and met with officials of the Bureau of Commerce of Qingdao where talks on fostering development relations between Makurdi and the Chinese city were held.
Chairman of the State Economic Team, Professor Dennis Ityavyar who led the Benue delegation to Qingdao on behalf of Governor Samuel Ortom signed the agreement with the Vice Director – General, Qingdao’s Bureau of Commerce, Chunyu Xianli.
Also on the Benue team were Commissioner for Industry, Trade and Investment, Dr Tersoo Kpelai, as well as the State House of Assembly Committee Chairman on Industry, Trade and Investment, Hon. Richard Ujege.
The pact covers several areas of economic cooperation such as electricity and road construction in the 23 local government areas of Benue State.
